Children Are a Heritage From the Lord!

God declares to us in the Scriptures that "children are a heritage from the Lord" (Psalm 127:3). WRPC diligently seeks to train and disciple the heritage entrusted to us by supporting and assisting parents in the Christian nurture of their children (Eph.6:4). Formally, we do this work through our Children's Ministry Program. It includes the following:

  • Teaching that is rich in biblical content and instruction

  • Memorization of Scripture and Catechism

  • Familiarization of songs sung in the corporate worship services

  • Fellowship with other children of a similar age group

It is our great privilege to assist you in the raising of your children. Please take advantage of our many resources and let us serve you by having your children participate in our ministry to them.

Children's Sunday School

Every Sunday morning from 11:20 until 12 noon, children meet with others in their age group for Sunday School class. The weekly bulletin lists classrooms and teachers. You can also stop by the Information Desk in the narthex for more information.

Catekids (pronounced "cat-eh-kids")

On Wednesday nights, children gather after dinner at 6:40 PM for instruction and memorization of the Westminster Shorter Catechism, along with an assortment of fun and games.

Thursday Kids

On Thursday mornings during our ladies’ 10-week Bible study (Spring & Fall), we offer nursery care as well as classes for preschool through elementary-age home-schooled children so moms can attend the study.

Vacation Bible School

Summer features one of the annual highlights of our children's ministry: Vacation Bible School. This fun-filled week is for the children of the church and the surrounding community. Each year's theme is carefully chosen to be evangelistic as well as growth-oriented, working to build up the faith of our children.

Children's Ministry at WRPC is Multifaceted and Intentional

Our children's classes are rich in biblical content, scripture memorization and catechism. In addition to regular children’s classes, we welcome our children into corporate worship, involve them in ministry and service, and provide lots of opportunities for fellowship. Our goal is to come alongside parents, working together to teach our covenant children to love the Lord with all their hearts, souls, and strength.
