Our Vision and Mission

Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church is committed to the authority and sufficiency of the Word of God expressed in the historic creeds of the church and the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. We exist to glorify God by ministering to our members, reaching the people of our community, and influencing our culture for Christ and His Kingdom; and working throughout the world in order to make disciples of all nations. This is to be accomplished by:

  • Worship
  • Proclamation
  • Evangelism
  • Discipleship
  • Reclamation
  • Demonstration

These purposes are translated into three objectives or strategies:

  1. (1) To minister to our members by providing them with:
    • Vital worship demonstrating the presence and power of God.
    • True fellowship founded on relational Christianity.
    • Instruction and discipleship grounded in Biblical and Reformed theology.
    • Pastoral care and shepherding directed to the needs of the whole person.
    • Equipping and encouraging the use of spiritual gifts.
  1. (2) To reach people of our community and influence our culture for Christ by:
    • Proclaiming a biblical theology which answers the questions and issues of our day.
    • Influencing all social, political, and professional segments of society with Christians who embrace a biblical world view and life view.
    • Training our members in various aspects of evangelism and discipleship.
  1. (3) To work throughout the world in order to make disciples of all nations by:
    • Proclaiming a worldwide vision of Christ's Kingdom.
    • Communicating a vision of church planting.
    • Sending people and finances to support missions at home and abroad.
