Ministries

WRPC is a Word-centered church with an integrated body life. We don’t believe every good idea deserves the title of a ministry. We do believe every member is called to minister within the body and to serve God in advancing His kingdom. The Westminster Confession of Faith (our doctrinal standard) reminds us of these obligations:

Chapter 26:1
All saints, that are united to Jesus Christ their Head, by His Spirit, and by faith, have fellowship with Him in His grace, sufferings, death, resurrection, and glory: and, being united to one another in love, they have communion in each other’s gifts and graces, and are obliged to the performance of such duties, public and private, as do conduce to their mutual good, both in the inward and outward man.

Chapter 26:2
Saints by profession are bound to maintain an holy fellowship and communion in the worship of God, and in performing such other spiritual services as tend to their mutual edification; as also in relieving each other in outward things, according to their several abilities and necessities. Which communion, as God offereth opportunity, is to be extended unto all those who, in every place, call upon the name of the Lord Jesus.

These formal words have a very practical and loving purpose. As the body of Christ we take on responsibilities for one another and there are particular contexts where these are lived out: in single life, in marriages, in families, in work in the church and service to the community, in serving the neediest, in bringing up children, and in supporting each other in the proclamation of the Gospel, to ourselves, to our homes, to one another, and to the world. Our ministry efforts each work in different ways to accomplish these responsibilities. Take advantage of our resources and find out how you can be involved in using your gifts and abilities for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
